These include employees engaged in heavy work, work in harmful and hazardous conditions, and young persons under the age of 21. Legislation is concerned about the health of workers, so it obliges employers to conduct medical examinations for certain categories of employees.
To determine whether an employee is required to undergo a medical examination for work, the employer should refer to the list of harmful and hazardous factors in the working environment and the work process, for which a preliminary (periodic) medical examination of employees is mandatory (Appendix 4 to Order No. 246).
According to Order No. 246 of the Ministry of Health dated May 21, 2007, employers are obliged to organize and conduct preliminary and periodic preventive medical examinations of employees.
The purpose of preventive medical examinations order 246:
Timely detection of early signs of acute and chronic occupational diseases, general and industrial
Ensuring dynamic monitoring of the health status of patients under the influence of harmful and dangerous production factors and the labor process
In order to obtain a medical examination, order 246 requires a minimum of five doctors:
- surgeon
- oculist
- therapist
- otolaryngologist
- neurologist
- gynecologist (for women)
It is necessary to pass tests and undergo a medical examination:
- General blood test
- Blood sugar analysis
- General analysis of urine
- X-ray of chest organs
- EKG
